UAE Issues Poor Visibility Alert, Adjusts Speed Limits on Select Roads
The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a crucial advisory to motorists, urging strict adherence to traffic regulations in anticipation of possible fog formation. In a statement released on Monday night, the NCM highlighted the potential for a decline in horizontal visibility, particularly in internal and coastal areas, especially westward.
The NCM cautioned that visibility may significantly decrease between 00:00 and 10:00 on Tuesday, December 12, emphasizing the need for heightened awareness during this period. Abu Dhabi Police joined the call for caution, urging drivers to exercise extreme care due to the anticipated reduction in visibility caused by fog.
In response to the advisory, drivers are specifically advised to stay vigilant and adhere to changing speed limits as communicated through electronic information boards. This precautionary measure is crucial for ensuring road safety during the specified timeframe. Motorists are encouraged to stay updated on weather conditions and traffic alerts to navigate the affected areas safely.
