The UAE is taking bold steps toward becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), and its latest collaboration is a major move in that direction. The UAE Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UiPath, a world leader in enterprise automation and AI, to accelerate the adoption of AI-powered automation in government operations. This partnership aims to improve both public services and the skills of the UAE workforce while aligning with the country's National Strategy for AI.

Strengthening Government Services with AI Automation

The collaboration between the UAE government and UiPath focuses on a transformative approach known as Agentic Automation. This AI-driven solution is designed to enhance government services by automating routine processes, improving operational efficiency, and allowing employees to focus on more strategic tasks. The initiative is also set to equip the UAE’s workforce with advanced AI skills, contributing to the nation’s goal of becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence by 2031.

The agreement was signed by Omar Sultan Al Olama, the UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and Daniel Dines, the Founder and CEO of UiPath. Both leaders emphasized how this partnership is crucial for enabling the UAE to stay at the cutting edge of AI development, while also fostering local talent.

Empowering the Workforce and Future Leaders

One of the key aspects of the partnership is the development of a specialized training program aimed at upskilling 100 government employees and students. The program will leverage UiPath’s Business Automation Platform, providing hands-on training and practical experience with AI-powered tools. The training will be part of the National Programme for Coders initiative, a national effort to train young talents in emerging technologies.

Participants in the program will also have the opportunity to earn UiPath certifications, positioning them for AI-driven roles in both the public and private sectors. This training is expected to empower individuals with valuable, marketable skills that are highly sought after in the growing field of AI automation.

Exploring Pilot Projects and AI Innovation

Beyond the training programs, the partnership will also involve exploring pilot projects and workshops to demonstrate the potential of AI automation in government operations. These initiatives will focus on improving public-facing services, enhancing government efficiency, and driving the overall transformation of the public sector.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Mahmoud, Director of the AI Office, noted the importance of collaborating with private sector leaders like UiPath. The UAE government is committed to creating a strong ecosystem of innovation, and partnerships like this are key to achieving its ambitious vision of leading AI advancements globally.

A Vision for the Future

Zakaria Haltout, Area Vice President at UiPath, shared his enthusiasm about the UAE's proactive approach to AI adoption. He expressed excitement about the opportunity to equip government employees and graduates with AI skills, helping to create new economic, educational, and social opportunities. The partnership is not just about improving government operations—it’s about preparing the workforce for the future of AI-driven industries.

Together, the UAE government and UiPath are positioning the country at the forefront of AI innovation. This partnership will not only drive transformative change in governance and public services but also foster a highly skilled workforce ready to thrive in an AI-powered world.
