As the world welcomes 2025, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the operating hours for its various services during the New Year’s holiday. Whether you're using public transport, marine services, or planning to park in the city, here’s everything you need to know about RTA’s services during this festive period.

Customer Happiness Centres & Vehicle Testing Centres

RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres and vehicle technical testing centres will remain closed on Wednesday, 1 January 2025. Operations will resume as usual on Thursday, 2 January 2025, during regular business hours. Be sure to plan your visits accordingly.

Dubai Metro and Tram Timings

Dubai Metro:

• On 31 December 2024, the Metro will operate from 5:00 AM to 11:59 PM.
• On 1 January 2025, Metro services will be extended, running from 12:00 midnight to 11:59 PM.

Dubai Tram:

• On 31 December 2024, the Tram will operate from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM.
• On 1 January 2025, Tram services will be available from 12:00 midnight to 1:00 AM the following day.

Public Bus Services

If you’re planning to use Dubai’s public buses, it's recommended to check the S’hail app for the latest updates on bus timings.

Suspended Routes:

• Route E100 (Al Ghubaiba to Abu Dhabi) and Route E102 (Al Jafiliya to Shabiya Musaffah) will be suspended from 31 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.
• As an alternative, passengers can use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station.

Marine Transport Services

Dubai’s marine transport services will continue with a few schedule adjustments for the New Year:

Water Taxis:

• Popular routes, including Marina Mall – Bluewaters (BM3), will be operational from 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight. On-demand water taxi services will also be available, with prior booking.

Dubai Ferry:

• Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Water Canal (FR1) and other tourist trips from Marina Mall and Al Jaddaf will operate on specific schedules.

Traditional Abras:

• Traditional abras connecting key areas such as Old Souq, Al Fahidi, and others will run from 11:00 AM to midnight.

Tourist Trips:

• Special tourist trips will be available for visitors from Al Seef, Business Bay, and Marina Mall, running between 3:30 PM and 10:15 PM, offering scenic rides along Dubai’s waterways.

Public Parking

For those driving around the city, all public parking zones (except multi-storey parking) will be free on Wednesday, 1 January 2025. Paid parking will resume on Thursday, 2 January 2025. This is a great opportunity to explore Dubai’s iconic landmarks without worrying about parking fees!
