Meteorological Advisory: Yellow Alert Issued for Fog in the UAE, Urging Caution Amidst Reduced Visibility
In a weather-related cautionary measure, a yellow alert has been officially declared for fog across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today. This alert encompasses a broad spectrum of internal areas within the country and is slated to remain in effect until 9 am on Monday, January 22. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a stern warning, advising residents to exercise heightened caution when venturing outdoors during this period.
Highlighting the potential risks associated with reduced visibility, Abu Dhabi Police have issued a specific call to motorists, urging them to remain vigilant and responsive to dynamic changes in speed limits. Electronic signboards along key routes will prominently display these alterations, serving as a crucial guide for drivers navigating the affected areas.
Beyond the fog-related advisory, the general weather forecast for the day predicts fair to partly cloudy conditions. As nightfall descends and transitions into Tuesday morning, heightened humidity is anticipated in select coastal and internal regions, accompanied by a potential for fog or mist formation.
Temperature-wise, both Abu Dhabi and Dubai will experience a moderate climate, with temperatures fluctuating between 18°C and 25°C. Additionally, light to moderate winds are expected to prevail, contributing to a moderate to slight sea state in the Arabian Gulf and a slight sea state in the Oman Sea.
This comprehensive advisory underscores the significance of staying informed and exercising prudence in light of the prevailing weather conditions, as authorities work diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and travelers alike.
