In light of the UAE’s tightened visa-related regulations, which now require visit visa holders to book roundtrip tickets on the same airline and carry Dh3,000 cash, it’s essential to know how to manage legal and immigration issues effectively. One significant concern that visitors or residents might face is a travel ban. This can occur due to legal troubles or issues like missed loan or credit card payments. If you find yourself in this situation, here's a step-by-step guide on how to check and cancel a travel ban online.

Step-by-Step Guide to Cancel a UAE Travel Ban Online

  1. Visit the Ministry of Justice Website

    • Go to the Ministry of Justice website and log in using your UAE Pass. If you haven't registered on the website before, you'll need to do so.
  2. Locate the 'Cancellation Request of Travel Ban Order'

    • After logging in, search for the 'Cancellation Request of Travel Ban Order'. Under this section, find the 'Case Management' tab.
  3. Access 'My Cases'

    • Click on the 'Case Management' tab and then select 'My Cases' to view any cases filed against you.
  4. Request Cancellation

    • Review the details of each case and submit a cancellation request for each one. You will need to fill out a form with your details during this process.
  5. Make the Required Payment

    • Depending on your case, you may need to make a payment. Ensure you complete this step to finalize your request.

Additional Information

According to the Ministry of Justice, processing your cancellation request could take up to five working days. While filing the application, you might be asked to provide supporting documents to strengthen your case for the travel ban cancellation.

New System for Judicial Enforcement

The UAE has introduced a pioneering system in the region that instantly tracks and cancels judicial enforcement decisions after the required payments are made. Recently, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department adopted this new system, which monitors the payment status. Once the respondent completes the payment, the system cancels the original decision electronically and forwards the approval to the relevant authorities.

If your travel ban is due to non-payment, you can download a copy of the cancellation decision through the smart app. This allows you to proceed with travel procedures and present the soft copy if required.
