Guidelines for Indian Visit Visa Holders Traveling to Dubai: What You Need to Know
Traveling from India to the UAE has become smoother with new guidelines issued by several Indian airlines. If you’re planning a trip to Dubai, it’s crucial to be well-prepared and informed about the necessary documents and requirements to avoid any travel hiccups.
Essential Guidelines for Travelers
Indian airlines, including Air India Express and SpiceJet, have released advisories for passengers holding visit visas to the UAE. These guidelines are aimed at ensuring a hassle-free travel experience. Here’s what you need to know:
Required Documents
- Valid Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry into the UAE.
- Return Ticket: Have a confirmed return ticket to avoid issues at the airport.
- Accommodation Details: Proof of confirmed hotel reservations or accommodation arrangements.
- Financial Proof: Carry or have in your account:
- Dh3,000 (approximately Rs68,000) for a 1-month visa
- Dh5,000 for a longer stay
- Additional Documents: If staying with relatives or friends who are UAE residents, have their contact details and any related documentation.
Airline Advisories and Compliance
An Air India Express spokesperson highlighted the importance of these guidelines, urging passengers to carry all necessary documents. Similarly, SpiceJet and other airlines have emphasized that failure to comply with these requirements could lead to deportation or denial of boarding.
Travel agents in both India and Dubai are also reinforcing these guidelines. Taha Siddique, owner of Siddique Travels, mentioned that they ensure clients have all the necessary documents before booking their tickets. This precaution helps avoid any last-minute travel disruptions.
The Importance of Preparation
Due to past incidents where travelers were denied boarding or sent back from UAE airports, there is now a heightened awareness among travelers. Deepak Kaushik, operations manager at ToursOnBoard, noted that passengers are now more diligent in preparing their documents.
Bharath Aidasani, managing partner at Pluto Travels, explained that airlines are responsible for returning travelers who are denied entry to the UAE. This responsibility has led to rigorous document checks at check-in counters to prevent any issues.
Firoz Maliyakkal, founder and CEO of Tahira Tours and Travels, added that travelers who fail to produce the necessary documents at check-in may be asked to obtain them before boarding or be sent back.
