Dubai has unveiled its latest innovation in smart technology with the introduction of the new 'Robocop.' This advanced robot utilizes facial recognition technology linked to Emirates IDs to enhance crime detection and ensure safety on the city's streets.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has deployed Robocop to monitor and detect violations related to the use of bicycles and scooters in Dubai. Equipped with state-of-the-art features, Robocop is set to revolutionize surveillance and law enforcement.

For simplicity, we affectionately refer to this intelligent robot as Robocop, drawing inspiration from the iconic 1987 sci-fi character. Its capabilities extend beyond mere surveillance, with a focus on promoting adherence to safety protocols and curbing violations.

Robocop's functionality includes:

• Identification of violations such as failure to wear helmets and improper scooter parking.
• Collaboration with Dubai Police for efficient data sharing and analysis.
• Monitoring activities like large gatherings and unauthorized scooter use.

During its initial trial phase, Robocop will not impose fines but rather focus on data collection and analysis. The 30-day trial, commencing in the Jumeirah 3 beach area, aims to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of Robocop's AI-driven detection system.

Operating from 3 pm to 11 pm on weekdays and 5 pm to 1 am on weekends, Robocop boasts an impressive array of features:

• 4K camera with night vision capabilities.
• 8-hour battery life for extended patrols.
• Over 85% accuracy in identifying violations.
• Rapid data delivery within 5 seconds.
• Surveillance range of up to 2 km.
