Dubai's Energy Metro Station Reopens Ahead of Schedule After Flood Closure
After a period of closure due to heavy rains that hit Dubai in mid-April, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully reopened the Energy metro station. Initially slated to resume operations on May 28, the station is now back in service ahead of schedule.
In an official statement issued on Saturday morning, the RTA announced, "The RTA has successfully resumed Dubai Metro’s full operations." This marks a significant step towards restoring normalcy for commuters who rely on the metro for their daily transportation needs.
The RTA emphasized that all maintenance and safety tests were thoroughly completed to ensure the station is "ready to operate at the highest standards and efficiency." This commitment to safety and quality reflects the authority's dedication to providing reliable and secure transportation options for the public.
Additionally, the RTA confirmed to Khaleej Times that the Dubai Metro services are now fully operational on both the Green Line and the Red Line, including the Energy Metro Station. This comprehensive reopening ensures that commuters can once again travel smoothly across the network.
Previously, on May 19, the RTA had reopened three other rain-affected stations—Onpassive, Equiti, and Mashreq—well ahead of their scheduled reopening dates. Teams worked tirelessly around the clock to complete all necessary safety checks, allowing these stations to return to full functionality.
Commuters expressed relief and satisfaction as services at Onpassive, Equiti, and Mashreq stations resumed, with all facilities operating efficiently. During the closure period, the RTA demonstrated its commitment to maintaining efficient transportation by operating feeder bus services between the affected stations, ensuring minimal disruption for passengers.
The RTA also took the opportunity to thank commuters for their patience and cooperation during the closure. "We thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and we remain committed to providing you with comfortable and safe journeys to your destinations," the authority stated.
This proactive approach by the RTA not only highlights their efficiency in handling unexpected disruptions but also underscores their ongoing commitment to enhancing the commuter experience in Dubai. With the Energy metro station and others now fully operational, residents and visitors can look forward to seamless and reliable metro services once again.
