Dubai Roads to Temporarily Close for UAE Cycling Tour Stage 4
In preparation for the fourth stage of the UAE Tour cycling race, certain roads in Dubai will experience temporary closures, announced the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) on Wednesday.
The RTA specified that traffic will be suspended intermittently from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm at select intersections to accommodate the passage of competitors. Once all cyclists have passed through, normal traffic flow will resume, coordinated closely with the Dubai Police.
Motorists are advised to consult the route map provided by the authority for specific details. Dubai Police have also shared the route map, urging drivers to plan their journeys in advance to avoid any inconvenience.
Following the successful UAE Tour Women's event last week, the men's Tour commenced on February 19 and will continue until the 25th. This prestigious UCI WorldTour race is the only one of its kind in the Middle East.
The race spans 980km over seven stages, featuring a mix of sprint stages, mountain stages, and a high-speed individual time trial.
Stage 4, known as the 'Dubai Stage,' covers a distance of 171km, starting from Dubai Police Officer's Club and concluding at Dubai Harbour.
Cyclists will traverse iconic landmarks such as Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa before heading towards Deira. The route includes scenic stretches through the desert, Al Qudra Cycle Track, and Jumeirah Islands, with a sprint finish awaited at Dubai Harbour after passing Palm Jumeirah.
