Dubai Roads and Transport Authority Unveils AED 1.6 Billion Digital Plan
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled an ambitious Digital Strategy spanning the years 2023 to 2030, backed by a substantial investment of Dh1.6 billion. The comprehensive plan encompasses 82 projects and initiatives, aiming to leverage modern technologies for enhanced mobility solutions, increased digital service adoption, and skill set digitization for RTA employees. The four-phase strategy, executed over seven years, seeks to position Dubai as a leading city for living, working, and tourism. The strategy includes key objectives such as enabling 100% fintech-driven mobility and developing 50 artificial intelligence use cases. Progress and effectiveness will be measured using various indices focusing on digital service adoption, happiness, governance compliance, and other crucial metrics. As part of Dubai's broader transportation initiatives, the RTA is also set to introduce a new metro line, anticipating completion in 2029, and aiming to serve hundreds of thousands of passengers daily by 2030.
