In a significant stride towards positioning Dubai as a global digital economy hub, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed has inaugurated the Dubai AI Campus at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). This ambitious initiative is set to accelerate AI adoption across various sectors, aligning perfectly with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision for Dubai's future.

The Dubai AI Campus is a cornerstone of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), designed to enhance AI’s contribution to the GDP and drive economic growth. This cutting-edge campus is poised to host numerous businesses and create a multitude of jobs, solidifying Dubai’s status as a global technology hub.

During the inauguration, key officials, including Omar bin Sultan Al Olama and Essa Kazim, highlighted the importance of this milestone. The completion of phase one saw 75 businesses registering with the campus. Looking ahead, phase two will expand the campus to 100,000 square feet, aiming to attract over 500 companies and create 3,000 jobs by 2028.

Arif Amiri, CEO of the DIFC Authority, emphasized the alignment of the Dubai AI Campus with DIFC’s 2030 Strategy. This alignment is set to significantly boost the fintech and innovation ecosystem. The campus, backed by major tech giants like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, offers an innovation lab for small businesses and provides specialized AI licenses within DIFC's robust legal framework.

Businesses operating within the Dubai AI Campus will benefit from DIFC's pioneering Digital Assets Law, ensuring legal certainty and fostering an environment conducive to innovation. To further underscore its commitment to future technologies, Dubai will host the Dubai AI and Web3 Festival in September 2024. This festival will showcase the city’s ongoing dedication to technological advancement.

The DIFC Innovation Hub, already home to over 1,000 startups, continues to be a driving force in fostering innovation. Initiatives like the Metaverse Accelerator Program highlight Dubai’s relentless pursuit of technological excellence and innovation.

As the Dubai AI Campus begins its journey, it promises to be a pivotal player in transforming Dubai into a leading global tech hub, setting the stage for unprecedented growth and innovation in the AI sector.
