Dh4.4 billion initiative to build a new island in Dubai will house upscale Las Vegas hotel names including Aria, MGM, and Bellagio.
Hotel chains from Las Vegas, such as Aria, Bellagio, and MGM, will be located on a new island in Dubai. The $1.2-billion (Dh4.4-billion) waterfront project known as "The Island" is expected to be finished by the end of 2028 and spans 3.5 million square metres.
Although all three of the hospitality brands have casinos, it's not immediately clear if The Island would follow suit. The Jumeirah Beachfront development in Umm Suqeim 2, according to project intelligence database business BNC Network, will feature 1,000 hotel rooms, 10 villas, and apartments in addition to F&B outlets. 300 people can enjoy the best 3D performance viewing experience from a 110-meter-tall entertainment tower located in the centre of the island. The development will have artificial waterfalls, water fountains, and a business lounge in addition to indoor and outdoor swimming pools. There will be performances, conferences, festivals, and weddings in an 800-seat theatre. A beach club that provides "maritime leisure services" is an additional feature.
The project will contain cafés, restaurants, and retail establishments lining a 1.2-kilometer corniche. Children's games and sports will be available in a "Cave of Wonders" for families.According to BNC Network, property developer Wasl has given China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd Middle East the primary contract for The Island.
US-based Wynn Resorts, a hotel and gambling business, announced the designs for a facility on Ras Al Khaimah's Al Marjan Island earlier this year. Gaming establishments will be a feature of the $3.9 billion project.
Assistant manager for customer services at BNC Network, Zoya Akbar Khan, mentioned The Island when stating that they anticipate a "tremendous response" to the project. This is primarily because to companies like MGM and Bellagio, which are "known throughout the world for their iconic properties in Las Vegas."
She anticipates that the project will attract tourists and the nation's ultra-high net worth individuals because to its distinctive location and prospective gambling amenities. She went on to say that the other main development drivers will be the project's distinctive entertainment facilities.
